St Ives traditional fisherman’s cottage just metres from the Harbour, sleeps two ideal for couples with stunning 180-degree views over the rooftops. It has been lovingly refurbished in a way that maintains the original and quirky character of this beautiful property.
Ground Floor
Kitchen. Generous timber-floored country kitchen with gas-fired Rayburn, large pine table, ample storage, original tiling and old Belfast sink. Small electric portable oven with 2 ring hob, microwave, fridge, juicer, coffee grinder etc. The Rayburn heats the house and an immersion heater heats the water. During winter visits, there is nothing like ‘coming home’ to this cosy kitchen after a blustery walk along the beach.
Bathroom. Cottage bath and let-down ceiling rack for drying wet suits and washing. No shower hose provided due to original open floorboards – any spilt water goes down to the cottage below!
First Floor
A dozen wooden stairs to landing and WC with wash basin.
Sitting/bedroom area. This is galleried, has beamed high ceilings and runs the full depth of the house with large windows front and back giving exceptional views towards the south over the harbour. Original wide floorboards, panelled cupboards and cast-iron fireplace. Simple furnishings include a small double click clack sofa bed, wide single sofa bed and director’s chairs and small TV should you ever tire of the Harbour’s wonderful ever-changing day and night time views.
