This sumptuous one bed holiday cottage in the north wing of a historic farmhouse is located near Crackington Haven just off the South West coast path in Cornwall, ideal for a romantic escape.
Property details
Nestled down just off the South West coast path, The North Wing of this beautiful historic farmhouse is the perfect retreat for a peaceful breakaway, soaking up the summer rays in the private east-facing courtyard; the ideal spot to catch the sunrise over a morning coffee.
Step into the beautifully furnished and well-equipped kitchen, with stunning Fired Earth Mustard tiles, vintage style Portmeirion crockery, and everything you need to cook up a romantic dinner for two. Pour yourself a Nespresso coffee and step outside to the rhythmic lulling of the ocean, the call of seabirds and the gentle mooing of the cattle which graze the clifftops above and take in the utter peace and quiet. From the kitchen, follow through to the open-plan, dining and living area and cosy up in front of the historic granite wood burner, and put your favourite film on the 65″ Smart television with cinema sound. Here you will also find the dining table and chairs for two, with Graham and Green cushions.
The North Wing has a second sitting room, flooded with natural light from the large glass windows, and is the idyllic spot for reading; why not chose a book to read during your stay from the collection provided or make use of the selection of board games and chess set left for your use.
A slate spiral staircase leads to the large bedroom on the first floor, offering a very sprung super-king bed, reclaimed wooden floorboards, tasteful furnishings, and french windows leading out to a little sitting area with a table and chairs. You will also find the en-suite shower room on the first floor, with a large Burlington sink, a spacious walk-in shower, and a large round fish glass mirror designed and created by one of the world’s most respected fused glass designers in her Cornwall studio, Jo Downs.
Outside, the enclosed 16th-century, ancient cobbled courtyard has a lawned area with outdoor furniture and a barbecue area exclusive for your use. The old goose house is perfect for storing bikes surfboards and wetsuits etc.
The farm is situated between Bude and Boscastle and occupies the rolling pastures which look over the Stangles beach and the wildly beautiful stretch of the North coast. This really is the perfect base to explore all that Cornwall has to offer!
