Picturesque cottage just a short walk to the beach in Seatown on the Jurassic Coast, Dorset ideal for couples or families (note: regret no babies or children under the age of 5). This spacious 18th-century semi-detached cottage has a rich history having been originally built to house officers on the lookout for smugglers. Set within the World Heritage Jurassic Coast, there is much to explore in this picturesque region including Charmouth and Lyme Regis to the west and West Bay, Eype, Burton Bradstock and the charming village of Abbotsbury to the east (all within 14 miles). Seatown itself is home to a popular inn and a seasonal shop selling essential supplies. The nearby village of Chideock (1 mile) has further amenities, or head to Bridport (4 miles) and explore its eclectic mix of independent and high street shops before relaxing in one of the many cafes.
A flight of external steps lead through the garden to the rear entrance into this charming stone cottage. A stable door leads directly into the light and bright kitchen, which was newly refurbished in 2021 and is equipped with an electric oven and induction hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Leading on from here down two steps is a cosy dining area ideal for leisurely meals. Spanning the front of the property is an inviting lounge with a wood burner and Smart TV for watching all your favourite programmes, making it the perfect place to relax after a day spent exploring.
Just next door is a compact single bedroom and rear hallway leading to a shower room with a shower and WC. A door leads into a porch area, ideal for leaving muddy boots and coats. A winding staircase leads to the first floor and a choice of beautiful bedrooms. The first is a double, where you can enjoy waking up to the sights and sounds of the sea. Next door is a king-size bedroom, also with wonderful sea views. To the rear of the cottage is a stylish twin bedroom with lovely views over Golden Cap. A bathroom can also be found on this floor, fitted with a bath, handheld shower and WC.
Doors lead from the lounge into an enclosed front terrace to the front, complete with furniture, ideal for enjoying your morning coffee. To the rear of the cottage is a fantastic walled courtyard garden with furniture. An off-road parking area is set to the rear of the property, suitable for two cars.
