Praa Sands is a little gem of a coastal village in West Cornwall that sits in Mounts Bay, between the stunning Heritage coastlines of the vividly scenic Lizard and Penwith peninsulas. Its name correctly focuses on its best asset, a most fantastic crescent of pale sparkling sand owing to its composition of ground down sea shells. You could easily mistake this kilometre and a half long beach for one in southern Europe thanks to its south-facing sheltered location, wild sand dunes and clear turquoise waters, which are often treated to the warmer temperatures of the Gulf Stream.
