Porthleven Cottages by the Sea & Beach with Sea Views
The historic fishing village of Porthleven flanks Mount's Bay on the west side of the Lizard Peninsula just south of Marazion in Cornwall just a short drive from Mullion Cove. This is a charming harbour town with amazing coastal vistas and allures many visitors during the vibrant summer months. Hence it is perfectly geared-up for fun family holidays with plenty of activities and attractions to entertain kids of all ages, including St Michael's Mount and The Flambards Adventure Park. Thanks to the National Trust the beaches are protected, pristine and unspoilt. They are designated as Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and offer safe bathing and are patrolled by lifeguards during the summer months.
This white washed town bustles around a unique south west facing harbour, where fishermen deliver their daily catch to rows of eager restaurants and cafes and where happy tourists meander and relax in an almost Mediterranean ambience. This feeling could be due to the presence of the odd palm tree, boutique and gallery. Porthleven Beach is east of the harbour and reaches its maximum 4km of sand and pebbles at low tide. There is parking, toilets and refreshments and dogs are allowed out of season, but not between Easter and October; one to remember if you are seeking beachfront cottages that accept pets.
