Neath Port Talbot sits within the Swansea Bay area and provides an excellent beach holiday base for families to enjoy all this sparkling bay has to offer. To start with there are stunning sandy beaches, excellent coastal paths and the vibrant city of Swansea to explore; in fact whatever the weather there is always plenty of entertainment at your doorstep. That said most families are happy to sun worship, frolic or surf on the enormous sandy beaches that surround this coastal escape. One of the best beaches for family holidays is Aberavon, one of the longest stretches of sand in Wales with the most beautiful view over Swansea Bay. The secret as to why this beach is so ideal for families is its sheer size but also its fantastic action packed fully-loaded promenade. Here you will find plenty of cafes, bars, pubs and restaurants attracting walkers, cyclists, runners and even skaters; then there is the neighbouring skate park, splash pool and adventure playground for the kids. The larger kids can join the surfer crowd that regularly gathers in this popular surfing haven, or if you’d prefer to watch the action from the safety of the promenade, you can treat yourself to a pint and a generous helping of fish and chips. At the end of the day you can choose to catch a movie at the promenade cinema or indulge in a designer cocktail in one of the cities cool and trendy bars.
