Horns Cross is a hamlet slightly inland from the North Devon Coast and is made up of farmhouses and traditional cottages and has a pub and Inn but not much else. This shouldn't be a problem as it sits between the coastal town of Bideford and the fishing village of Clovelly, both of which offer anything you may need during your stay. The best beaches are around Bideford, Westward Ho and Saunton Sands and there are loads of walks along the coast that are a must, offering nature trails and cycling routes which wildlife enthusiasts will relish. Between Westward Ho and Bucks Mills there is a sheltered cove with fabulous red cliffs that can be reached via a footpath that treks through a little valley filled with flowers that also links to the main coastal path. This cove is totally secluded and well worth the walk but has no facilities. If you want something a little more organised then the neighbouring resorts are a mere drive away.
