Deal is a pretty coastal town that lies on the English Channel in Kent, between Dover and Ramsgate and just a short drive from Broadstairs. Its historic seafront is mostly made-up of Georgian town houses and cottages and the town centre hides some classic old lanes and specialist shops (especially for the foodies) that make for enjoyable browsing. The numerous restaurants cover most cuisines and the pubs all have their own unique vibe. Deal even has a choice of three markets, two castles and a museum to explore. Not to mention the lovely large shingle beach which offers all the facilities and overlooks the coast of France on clear days. It is donned with an equally long pier, which houses a great cafe/restaurant with amazing sea views thanks to its floor to ceiling windows. Last but not least is the seven-mile coastal cycling track that takes in the local vistas.
