ViewCumbria Holiday Accommodation by the Sea & Beach
Cumbria in North West England is perhaps most famous for the Lake District but its coastline, which runs from Carlisle to Barrow-in-Furness, is home to some lovely Victorian seaside resorts. Places like Seascale, St Bees, Allonby and Silloth boast some fine long sandy beaches, amazing sunsets and often views over the Isle of Man. Cumbria is a destination for those who enjoy a traditional seaside experience, appreciate nature reserves and enjoy historic curiosities. For example Hadrian’s Wall, a World Heritage Roman frontier wall that crosses the country from East to West, starts at Bowness-on-Solway in the North.
Beach Holidays in Cumbria with Sea Views
There are more Roman remains at Milefortlet in Crosscanonby and Maryport. Another ancient roman town is Ravenglass which lies on the coast within the Lake District National Park and which has a lovely long shingle beach as well as some great attractions including the Eskdale Railway, the Roman Bath House, Muncaster Castle and the Owl Centre. If you are planning Cumbrian short breaks and need self-catering accommodation, the holiday cottages here range from budget cottages for couples, child friendly family cottages and of course for the well heeled there are a few large luxury coastal cottages in Cumbria to rent with hot tubs. Bookings are made with the property agent or owner direct, so you’re sure to receive the best price and level of service. Some of these cottages are also pet friendly with a few even offering free Wi-Fi Internet access.
