Borth-y-Gest is pretty seaside village that sits within the Glaslyn Estuary in Gwynedd, North Wales. The village itself is made up of pastel coloured Victorian houses that lead to the water’s edge as well as some lovely cottages, shops, pubs, a cafe and a restaurant. It sits around its own natural harbour and curved sandy bay with a traditional promenade. This harbour eventually opens onto several coves and the surrounding views of sea and mountains from the Snowdonia National Park are spectacular. There is also the Park-y-Borth Nature Reserve that sits above Borth-y-Gest, an incredible place to appreciate natural beauty and colourful wildlife with miles of footpaths that wind through scenic spots overlooking the estuaries past neighbouring castles and on to the Llyn Peninsula. Amongst the many secluded coves and beaches there are those that lie within the Pen-y-Banc Reserve that offer a combination of wooded coves and rocky havens. Browse the self-catering Borth-y-Gest cottages listed here many that are child friendly and just a short walk to the beach.
