Bideford is a vibrant port town that sits on the Torridge Estuary in North Devon. Its lively atmosphere is probably down to the fun and friendly pubs, which often lay on music and great grub as well as the many other restaurants, cafes, shops and boutiques hidden within its quaint little lanes. This is a picturesque town with a spectacular waterfront that beckons keen walkers and cyclists to admire its views by day and by night. This is a classy english resort with a simple traditional charm and is located just a few minutes drive from a host of seafront apartments in Westward Ho and seaside cottages in Appledore to rent.
Instead of arcades there are pretty, kid friendly parks with splash pools and traffic free trails perfect for exploring the local wildlife. A ferry operates regular cruises to Lundy Island, around the estuary and up river. The best local beaches have to be Sandymere Beach for its family friendliness, Westward Ho and Woolacombe for fun seaside entertainment, swimming and surfing and Saunton Sands for the country's largest dune system and miles of fine sandy beach.
