Aberdovey, or Aberdyfi as its now known to the locals, is a charming seaside town that sits in the Snowdonia National Park, north of the Dyfi estuary where it joins the glistening Cardigan Bay. Being perched alongside this gorgeous sandy enclave probably explains why every conceivable water sport is on offer and why numerous sailing and water sport events are hosted here. It’s an ideal spot for family holidays thanks to the award winning beaches and the long list of activities and attractions geared towards entertaining every age group, including a championship golf course, historical sites, the Talyllyn Railway and wonderful wildlife trails. The self-catering beach accommodation in Aberdovey is of a high quality and generally good value for money as demonstrated by the selection of cottages to rent listed here. With many of the beaches around this part of Wales happy to accept pets, the North Wales dog friendly cottages are very popular as are the large group holiday cottages given the number of holidaymakers searching for cottages that sleep 8 or more people. To book one of these Aberdovey cottages by the sea all you need to do is choose your ideal rental and book direct with the owner or property manager. Most of the cottages are child and baby friendly, with some offering Wi-Fi Internet access and sea views; most are located just a few minutes walk to the sandy seafront. If you would prefer to stay right on the seafront then you may want to browse the fabulous collection of Wales beachfront holiday homes listed on Beachlets, many offering private beach access with some also boasting private hot tubs.
