Winchelsea Beach
Winchelsea Beach is a small, rural stretch of gentle sloping shingle on the coast of East Sussex. It enjoys very scenic views over Camber and Dungeness and the water is spotless and safe for bathing, so perfect for young families. The beach at Winchelsea feels especially natural and wild because to the east of the beach lies the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve.
Unlike the other resorts of East Sussex, there is no real development here and so there are few amenities. That said, behind the beach there is a lovely beach cafe, outdoor eating area and toilets with disabled facilities. There are a number of water sports practiced here including sailing, boating, jet-skiing, kayaking and wind surfing.
