Portloe Beach

Portloe Beach is a sheltered, sandy cove that lies near St Mawes. It has a fresh water stream flowing across the beach but the sand almost disappears at high tide. That said, swimming is safe and there is a lot to do, including rock pooling and fishing.

Sailing dinghies, kayaking, diving and snorkelling are popular sports here and there is safety equipment available above the beach. There is a pub very close to the beach and toilets on the coastal path close by. Dogs are welcome all year.
