The Isle of Wight is the perfect beach destination to indulge in a holiday by the sea. The island offers over 90km of shores comprising rugged coastline, cliff views, gorgeous coves and beaches, 17 of which have been awarded the Blue Flag status. So wherever you stay you will always be near a clean, family friendly beach. In regards to accommodation, we list a comprehensive selection of pet friendly cottages and holiday homes for groups, so whether you're a big family or holidaying with a group of friends you should find suitable rentals by the seafront listed on Beachlets.
Freshwater Bay is just one example of top-notch beaches that grace the West side of the island. Freshwater is made up of a mix of sand and pale pebbles that creates the most delicious sound as the waves ebb and flow and the rock pools are a natural playground for kids. Totland Bay is another divine sandy beach with gorgeous blue waters perfect for bathing. The seafront also offers plenty of entertainment for the family. Shanklin beach also has excellent facilities for a day by the sea, as does the Blue Flag awarded Sandown Beach with its cool cafes and shops. Our favourite is Ryde Beach, which promises huge flat sands perfect for a day of fun and games overlooking the Solent.
