Famed for its high quality surf, Fistral Beach in Fistral Bay, North Cornwall is west-facing lending it to the consistent Atlantic swells that have been known to create waves in excess of 12m high. Just under a kilometre west of Newquay this popular sandy beach offers a range of facilities including car parks, toilets, beach cafes and restaurants and is a popular hang out for large groups on surf holidays.
In summer the beach can become quite busy with surfers, families with children and the odd festival creating a fabulous seafront atmosphere. RNLI Lifeguards are on hand from May to September and bathers should be aware that there are rip currents present depending on the conditions.
