The Portland end of Chesil Beach is called Chesil Cove and sits below the famous cliffs of Portland. It is a storm beach and quite exposed to the elements, but offers amazing views across the Dorset coastline and has very clean water.
This area teems with marine life and seabirds and is of course a favourite place for diving, fishing and birdwatching. There is a cafe, pub and toilets on the promenade behind the beach and two small car parks.
